Dr. Bill Johnson

Dr. Bill Johnson is a native Midwesterner, born and raised in central Illinois. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science at the University of Illinois in 1998 he pursued the lifelong dream of being a Veterinarian at Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine, St. Kitts, West Indies.

In 2003 Dr. Johnson received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine after completing his clinical studies at the University of Missouri. Upon completion, he returned to Illinois and entered an internship in small animal medicine and surgery at Country View Veterinary Clinic in Champaign/Urbana. Dr. Johnson then returned to his hometown and was a private practitioner until moving to Georgia in 2016 where he continued working in private practice before joining Pet Doctors of America in 2021.

Over the years Dr. Johnson has acquired a special interest in the bonds formed between people and their pets. He strives to integrate preventative medicine to maintain optimal health with a goal to maintain long-term healthy, happy bonds. In addition, he has special interests in Internal Medicine, Soft Tissue Surgery, Dermatology, Gastrointestinal Disease, and Geriatric Care.

He shares his life with his beautiful wife and best friend, Lara. Together they have one son, Brendan who is a handsome and talented musician. They have one four-legged family member, Felina, a German Shepherd Dog.

In his spare time, Dr. Johnson enjoys cooking, gardening, fishing, and exploring the East Coast with his family!
